Faithful Friday: As winter throws its last gasp at us and we turn our attention to spring and planting season, I thought it would be a good time to highlight Samuel W. “Beau” Neill’s book, Seedtime & Harvest. In a case of taking the Leonardo da Vinci quote “Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art,” literally, author Beau Neill’s book Seedtime & Harvest: A Practical Guide to Land and Life takes his lifetime of farming the land and combines it with the biblical principles he lives by. Beau uses his memories of growing up in a farming family, his knowledge and love of agriculture, and his experiences on the mission fields of Cuba and Central America to illustrate how working with spiritual guidance has prospered the work of his hands with bountiful harvests.

Farming is truly an art form, and it is one that everyone should understand and appreciate! I should know, Beau Neill is a 3rd generation farmer, and I am his daughter. This was a project many years in the making… a decade of research and writing for my father, and several years of planning, days of photoshoots with one of my favorite photographers, and months of designing for me. I can’t even express what an honor it was to bring Dad’s vision to life.
